Sur Mesure, Mandarin Oriental – Paris

Sited within the heart of the city, the award-winning Mandarin Oriental Paris provides two restaurants, a bar, cake shop, and gardens of diverse atmospheres. Vegetated spaces lead guests into a light filled dining space scented with camellias to blend the interior and exterior boundary.

The deliberate surfacing of columns and circulation areas with wood veneer within the hotel and restaurants evokes imagery of garden trees and pathways.

Within Chef Thierrry Marx signature restaurant, Sur Mesure, every detail of the design by Jouin-Manku compliments the sensory experience. On entering, guests discover an intimate all-white cocoon, which acts as a blank canvas for the menu. By draping the walls and ceiling with white fabric, they have created an impression of weightless clouds, while in the center lies an elliptic crystal seemingly suspended in mid-air.

Working in tandem with the interior designers, textile designer,  Heidi Winge Strom created the bespoke fabric of the walls, tablecloths and napkins.
