L'Ortolan is set in a Grade II listed former vicarage in beautiful grounds, close to the bustle of Reading yet firmly in the Berkshire countryside. The dining room extends from the main building into a light and airy conservatory. For the more adventurous diners the chef's table is in the heart of the kitchen where you can soak up the atmosphere during a busy service and enjoy a succession of exquisite food and wine pairings.

It's held a Michelin star since 2003, and now under the current Head Chef Tom Clarke (since 2015) enjoys high end French cuisine with traditional flavours mixed with modern recipes.

Whether you are celebrating with friends and family, entertaining clients and colleagues or looking for a place to hold your corporate dining event, with its beautiful grounds and elegant setting L'Ortolan provides a choice of unique dining and entertaining experiences for the most memorable occasion.

Champagne Room : This stylish room has a specially commissioned, bubble-etched, glass table on a timber beam which creates a truly original dining setting.

Wine Cellar : This stunning room has an atmosphere of grand theatre; dramatically rich, dark, and warm in style creating a mature and opulent feel. A room quite in harmony with the image and mood associated with quality wines and an established cellar.

Glass Room : With light and airy views over beautifully landscaped gardens, this is an elegant and relaxed place to dine at any time of the day. An intimate atmosphere well suited to both gatherings of friends and family, and corporate events.

No room hire is charged for any private dining room, provided the minimum number of guests or food and beverage spend is achieved.

Event member offer

Members receive a complimentary six course tasting lunch or dinner for two (Tuesdays to Thursdays) for any private dining booking for 8 or more guests. Presented as a Gift Voucher after the event has taken place. Minimum spend £800, club card to be presented to redeem offer.
