The Peat Spade Inn

Peat Spade Inn is an entrancingly pretty building in tranquil Longstock village - a place chocolate box designers dream of. The Inn fits comfortably into its wonderful rural surroundings with its traditionally pretty furnishings, log fire and books and games. The vibrant red-painted interiors are decked with old sporting photos and the charming little bar reels in savvy locals with lovely real ales. The food is perfect; sumptuous, yet unfussy regional fare, featuring classics such as hearty slow-braised steak and ale pie or hake fillet accompanied by buttered new potatoes, samphire, capers and lemon dressing.
