Overview

Middlethorpe Hall is a William III country house just two miles from York's city centre, yet is set in 20 acres of its own beautiful gardens and parkland - the best of both city and country. Built in 1699, it was once the home of the famous diarist, Lady Mary Wortley Montague, and today is renowned for its excellent food, luxurious accommodation and boutique Spa.

Enjoy the best of country house dining, awarded 2AA Rosettes and having twice won 'Restaurant of the Year' in the Visit York awards. With a tranquil vista over neatly mown lawns, the two dining rooms, The Oak and The Pineapple, provide the perfect, elegant setting for breakfast, luncheon or candlelit dinner, also feature a wine list reflecting quality and variety.

With the chefs working closely with local suppliers and the hotel's gardening team, you can be assured the menu is fresh and seasonal.
