From the moment you turn into the private driveway of the 16th century Blackaddie Country House, you can tell you are somewhere very special. Owned by former Michelin-starred Chef Ian McAndrew and his wife Jane, this small luxury hotel is home to what is reputed to be one of the best gourmet restaurants in Scotland. Set on the banks of the beautiful river Nith, in the idyllic countryside of Dumfries & Galloway, Blackaddie Country Hotel is the perfect place for a special occasion, romantic break or a relaxing getaway.

With 45 years of experience Ian was Britain's youngest Chef ever, at that point, to have been awarded a Michelin-star at the age of just 27. Ian believes that fine dining starts with selecting the finest ingredients and goes to great lengths to source the best local produce, whether from his ownb kitchen garden, or from trusted local suppliers. Guests can enjoy the Fine Dining Five-Course Menu or the Gourmet Tasting Menu, which must be booked in advance.
