The Half Moon is a beautiful Grade II listed building in Kirdford, dating back to the 15th century. Lovingly restored to its former glory with modern twists, The Half Moon is a labour of love, borne out of a lifetime commitment to West Sussex, and where dogs are welcome, in the garden, and dog walking suggestions are aplenty. The motto at The Half Moon is "Unwind, enjoy and welcome to our home", and what a welcoming place it is. In the dining room, service is equally as important as the food served, and whether you choose from the set lunch, a la carte or 6 course tasting menu the bar team is on hand to help pair the perfect drink accompaniment. Like the seasons, menus are continually changing as the kitchen team use the treasures that nature, and their kitchen garden, have to offer. Using their knowledge and passion, they deliver flavour to surprise and delight, and innovative and inspiring dishes, where flavour and provenance are supported by global influences.
Owner, Jodie Kidd, has lived in the Sussex area all her life, and feels passionate that the Half Moon remains at the heart of the village. In 2014 Jodie took part in Celebrity Masterchef, in which she finished as a runner-up after demonstrating serious skills in the kitchen, sparking her love for creating beautiful dishes.
