In the rather unassuming setting of Ham Yard, tucked away very conveniently in a central location is another hotel success story from Tim and Kit Kemp, originators of some of the most beautiful and quirky boutique hotels in London and New York.
Ham Yard is a burst of colour and vibrancy with magnificent visual effects such as a bronze sculpture centrepiece and a mesmerising 135-dial digital clock. There are 91 very individual bedrooms, apartments, a drawing room, library, spa gym, 1950's style bowling alley, roof top garden and double height private event space.
The spacious restaurant stretches the yard square into a conservatory style space. A large feature wall of back lit pots by Martha Freud offers an extraordinary focal point and showcases Kit Kemp's talents of using various textiles and furnishings. The food is the best of British with many traditional dishes but of course with a creative take.
